We have extensive experience in special education and are passionate about helping parents like you understand the process. We offer tailored workshops and one-on-one consultations to help you understand the special education system and how to best advocate for your child.
Our workshops cover topics such as Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and ways to support your child's learning at home. We will also provide you with resources and tools to help you stay informed.
We use norm-referenced assessments and questionnaires to provide a comprehensive assessment in academics (reading, writing, math), and a cognitive profile (IQ test). This assessment is used to determine the presence of a specific learning disability and dyslexia.
The dyslexia evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that provides you with a clear understanding of your child's competencies in the following areas: oral language, phonological skills (e.g., phonemic awareness, rapid automatic naming), decoding, reading fluency (i.e., rate and accuracy), reading comprehension, spelling, and writing. the evaluation will also include cognitive testing in the areas associated with dyslexia.
Have you received an evaluation from an evaluator (within the last year) and were left feeling overwhelmed, discouraged or not sure where to start? We can help! We will meet with you and your student and help you figure out the next steps.
Are you curious about your child’s current level of intellectual functioning? Would you like to identify their strengths and possible weaknesses? This evaluation includes a description of cognitive subtests with findings and recommendations specific to your child's cognitive strengths and weaknesses. This evaluation helps you gain a more comprehensive understanding of your child’s cognitive profile. Along with academic testing the information can help determine the presence of a learning disability or dyslexia
